                   	     ORDINANCE NO. 9480
                  
                  
                   AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING SOUTH DRIVE
                   LOCATED SOUTHWEST FROM WEST 29TH STREET,
                   BETWEEN HOME DRIVE AND MARKET STREET, MORE
                   PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN.

              	   SECTION 1.  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
         CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby 
closed
         and abandoned South Drive located southwest from West 29th 
Street,
         between Home Drive and Market Street, more particularly 
described
         herein, and as shown on plat attached hereto and made a part
         hereof by reference:
               
                South Drive, a 20 foot wide unopened right-of-way
                beginning on the southwest line of East 29th Street
                (as now dedicated) some 196 feet northwest of the
                intersection of the southwest line of East 29th
                Street with the northwest line of Home Street,
                thence southwest 183.8 feet, thence northwest 10
                feet, thence southwest 30.8 feet, thence northwest
                10 feet to the southeast line of lot 8, block C,
                Lookout Place Subdivision, as shown by plat of
                record in plat book 9, page 42, R.O.H.C., thence
                northeast 214.6 feet with the southeast line of
                lots 8 and 4, block C, said Lookout Place
                Subdivision, to the southwest line of East 29th
                Street (as now dedicated), thence southeast 20 feet
                with East 29th Street to the point of beginning. 
                Tax Map No. 155E-A-9.
               
               
              	   SECTION 2.	  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this
         Ordinance shall take effect two weeks from and after its 
passage
         as provided by law.
